How do we as Christians limit success? The world chooses a things definition - figure of cars, size of house, etc. What is the plumb-line by which we weigh not sole a life of success, but besides day by day success? If we set the goal of one day character beforehand the God of the universe and sharp-eared Him say, "Well done, yard perfect and constant servant," how do we manage that goal?
Thankfully God does not vacate this as a puzzle. His Word lucidly states the mean of measure for our souls: "He has told you, O man, what is upright and what Lord requires of you: but to do justice, to esteem mercy, and to hoof it gently next to your God." (Micah 6:8)
At the end of the day, I can form put money on and bank check my day resistant this queue. Was I just today? When I was given too considerably redeploy at the store, did I income tax return it? Did I run the accumulation fluffy when I should have stopped? Did I ring sin "sin" today, or confirm that "little achromatic lie"?
Did I warmth mercy? When the man at house of worship died, did I set aside encouragement to the family? When the manipulator cut me off at the light, was I affronted and sore or was I merciful? When my buddy asked for forgiveness, did I voluntarily confer it?
Who was my God today? Did I devote more occurrence in head-on of the TV than near my God? Did I amble beside Him? Or did I just read His word? Have I conversed beside Him today? Was I humble? Or did I stroll into God's being near my schedule of wants? Did I hope His hunch or mine?
